Lost Hill, bluegrass provides a most enjoyable show while playing traditional and gospel bluegrass music.  The members of Lost Hill provide harmonies and tunes reminiscent of their cousins Lester, Bill, Curly and Herbie.  They'll keep you tapping your toes and holding your innards (for one reason or another) as they entertain folks like you throughout the country, both in person, as well as over the airwaves.

The band was started with our buddy Peter Sterpe, super picker and Jim and Kathy Berry and Alan Johnston.  Although our cousin Pete is no longer playing - Lost Hill Bluegrass would not be where they are without his contribution to the start up of this amazing adventure.

Jim Berry, our fearless leader keeps things in tact amongst us.  He provides the steady beat on his old Dog House (when he ain't in it).  He lives with his lovely wife, Kathy, at the Red Barn Farm in Springfield Mo.

Kathy Berry, the lily of the valley, the rose among the thorns is the mandolin player for Lost Hill Bluegrass.  She provides lead and harmony vocals, as well.  She toured on the road with the Village Singers for many years, as well as with Homeward Bound.  She has won numerous awards for Bluegrass Gospel. Kathy & Jim's place is just north of the Lost Hill Park.

The newest member of the group is Barry Smith.  He is one of the finest flat top pickers in these here Ozarks.  He has been playing music in the Springfield area for a number of years, and even admits to knowing some of the musicians in the area that he grew up picking with.  He has played with a number of the Ozark greats, just ask him sometime - he has stories.  He plays a great guitar and does a fine job singing lead and harmony vocals.  He lives in Ozark Missouri with his lovely wife and daughter.

Now for the bad news ... our banjer player.  Alan Johnston picks the old 5 string and will play guitar every once in a while when the band gets tired of the banjo.  He sings lead and harmony vocals and does most of the talking when Kathy will let him.  Alan grew up playing with his Dad, Silas Johnston who played the fiddle back in the day.  Alan served the U.S. Air Force with 26 years of active duty.  He has played a little bit of everything while in the service, but his band "Buckshot" is still playing in San Antonio TX and running strong.  When we think Alan can't be anymore annoying with his banjo, he get's out his fiddle.. now that is annoying.  He & his wife Linda, make their home outside of Ozark, MO.

If you get the chance to see us play somewhere - stop by and shake and howdy...we would be glad to visit.

Jim, Kathy, Barry & Alan
